AS 1428

AS 1428 is an Australian Standard for Design for Access and Mobility, which provides guidelines for designing buildings and facilities that are accessible to people with disabilities. The standard covers various aspects of accessibility, including requirements for accessible paths of travel, toilets, car parking spaces, and other facilities.

AS 1428 has been updated several times since its initial publication in 1988, with the most recent version being AS 1428.1:2009 Design for Access and Mobility - General requirements for access - New building work. The standard is applicable to new building work, as well as alterations and additions to existing buildings, and is intended to ensure that buildings and facilities are designed to be accessible and inclusive for all people, regardless of their abilities or disabilities.
